An Art Deco spelter and ivorine figure, 1930's,
Germany "Marlene"
the stylish young woman posing with hands on hips,
cold-painted in gold, silver and pink,
on a black and black/green marble base.
9.4in/24cm high.
very slight wear to the finish and slight staining
to the edge of the ivorine near her collar.
This is a delightful figure which oozes period style.
These small sculptures were designed for customers who wanted
the look
of the more expensive bronze and ivories, but hadn't quite got
the depth
of pocket to be able to afford them...
