Austrian bronze figure by Lorenzl,
circa 1925,
depicting a dancing female,
with a silvered and cold-painted finish,
mounted on a substantial green onyx and black marble plinth-
53cm / 21in high
signed Lorenzl in the bronze socle.
This stunning bronze has wonderful styling and is one of the
most stylish bronze sculptures Lorenzl designed.
The cold-painting is in good condition with expected wear to the
metallic finish and some chipping to the onyx base.

Probably now one of the best known of the Art Deco period
sculptors, Lorenzl is famous for his depiction of the slim boyish shape,
so desired in the 1920's, sculpting a wide range of bronze, spelter and
ceramic figures in dancing or coquettish poses. He designed for the
famous firms of Goldscheider, Hutschenreuther and Keramos
