A stunning rare Art Deco
Austrian bronze figure by Lorenzl,
circa 1925, "Sevilla".
Depicting a stylish Spanish lady,
with a silver and gold cold-painted finish,
mounted on an oval onyx plinth-
11.4in/29cm high
Signed Lorenzl and stamped Made in Austria, Real Bronze

This beautiful art deco figure has wonderful styling
to her hair and typical Lorenzl features.
This is an exceptionally good quality art deco bronze by Lorenzl,
with chased floral details to her shawl and even ribbing on her stockings! It's also a bronze I have never seen before.
She is in great condition with only slight wear to the beautiful metallic bronze finish and a repair to the onyx.

Joseph Lorenzl, Austrian 1892-1950.
Probably now one of the best known of the Art Deco period
sculptors, Lorenzl is famous for his depiction of the slim boyish shape,
so desired in the 1920's, sculpting a wide range of figures
in dancing or coquettish poses, working in bronze, spelter and ceramic. He also designed for the famous firms of Goldscheider, Hutschenreuther and Keramos.
