An Art Deco spelter and ivorine figure, in the style of Gerdago,
Germany, c1930,
the futuristic dressed carnival dancer cold-painted in gold and silver
with enamelled details, mounted on green onyx base-
24cm high/14cm wide
professional restoration to left hand "pinkie" and corner chip to onyx,
with minor "nibbles" to edges. Expected age wear to the cold-painted
spelter finish.
This is a fantastic quality spelter figure and can be found on another
website described as being a bronze and ivory by Gerdago.
It's safe to safe all these "futuristic" sculptures were heavily influenced
by Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" from 1927...
