An absolutely stunning huge and rare Art Deco spelter figure,
by D H Chiparus, France, c1925,
depicting Diana the huntress with her faithful hound, the spelter with a
green/bronze patina, on a potoro marble base-

Very slight age wear to the finish, professional repair to marble veneer.
This is a fantastic art deco sculpture by probably the leading sculptor of
the time. D H Chiparus is renowned for his exotic bronze and ivories
depicting the "new woman" and the Ballet Russe that took Paris by storm
in the early part of the 20th century.
This is the first time I have seen this particular model and the quality of
the casting is outstanding.
