Catherine Hough is one of the foremost glassmaker working in the UK today. She counterbalances the opposing characteristics of movement and stillness, weight and Balance through the mass of the clear glass formas that she creates.
Involved in every part of the making process, Catherine has developed as individual style through which she continually strives to grow technically and artistically.

Catherine Hough (b.1948)
graduated from the Stourbridge College of Art in 1978. She spent two years as Artist in Residence at Royal Brierley Crystal and then in 1980 joined The Glasshouse in London (which was set up by Sam Herman).
By the early eighties the core members were Annette Meech, Christopher Williams, Steven Newell, David Taylor, Fleur Tookey and Catherine Hough.
In the mid-eighties Steven Newell, Catherine Hough, and Simon Moore left The Glasshouse and set up their own studio, (Glassworks, London) in Islington.
In 1997 she formed her own company, Catherine Hough Glass.
