A rare bronze sculpture by R Bousquet,
France, circa 1910 - 1914,
"Awakening"
depicting a young woman arising from her slumber on a lion skin rug /
bed, holding roses in her hands, the bronze patinated antique
black/green and gold, mounted on avery substantial black and green
marble base-
30.5cm high
bronze base signed Bousquet
some wear to the patination and restored chips to the marble base.
Robert Bousquet (1888 - 1917)
His work was exhibited in the Paris Salon from 1912-1914.
This is an unusual bronze, very much in the style of the exotic silent
movies that were being produced at that time.
