An Art Nouveau spelter lamp, circa 1900, Germany featuring
a classically influenced semi-naked maiden holding two flower heads,
standing on a triform base decorated with three different Satyr
heads and leaves, the metal (and bronze flower heads) cold-painted
gold.
This is a lovely lamp and unusual with it's references to Greek
mythology. The bulbs are exposed as electricity was still a
"novelty" at the turn of the 19th century and something to be shown
you could afford to have. *The lamp could easily have glass shades
fitted. Repair to one flower stalk.
